Choreographer
Aletta’s choreographic work includes: Anna Nicole (Mark-Anthony Turnage and Richard Thomas’ World Premiere at the Royal Opera House and Brooklyn Academy of Music), The Effect (by Lucy Prebble, at the National Theatre), Jesus Christ Superstar (West End), Doctor Dolittle (Apollo Hammersmith) and Honk! (Scarborough/Royal National Theatre/Boston USA). Other choreography for theatre and opera includes His Dark Materials (by Philip Pullman & Nicholas Wright, directed by Nicholas Hytner at the National Theatre and the Olivier Award winning The Tempest (Thomas Adès World Premiere) for Royal Opera House. Most recent music videos include “Losing Myself” by Will Young for which she won Best Choreographer at the 2012 UK Music Video Awards. She was an associate artist at the Royal Opera House from 2009 to 2013 and has choreographed for leading contemporary dance companies including Rambert and Phoenix. Future work includes La Traviata for 2014 Glyndebourne Festival.
